Since long before the current pandemic Vanessa White has been capturing photos of discarded rubber gloves, inspired by a photo taken by artist Caleb Cole.

“I like the stories they tell. We as humans like to think we’re above nature, but we are very much a part of it. Just look around. We’re everywhere. Our legacy is everywhere and whether we like it or not, our legacy includes quite a lot of garbage. Garbage that is also part of nature. This is not garbage advocacy: this is our garbage reality. These are among the many contributions we make—that we choose to make.”
